Landlords may file an eviction complaint any
time without
the complaint being reviewed.
IF a person wants to have his or her eviction
complaint reviewed prior to filing, two options exist. The Magistrate
has office hours from 7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 3:00
p.m. on Mondays. Complaints can be filed immediately after review,
assuming everything is in order. Complaints may also be dropped
off at the Civil Division anytime during office hours between 7:00
a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The complaints will be reviewed by the end of
the business hours on Wednesday. If the complaint is incomplete
or missing necessary documents, the filer will be instructed to
come in during the Magistrate’s Monday office hours. If
the complaint is in order, the filer may come in and file the complaint
anytime upon being notified by the clerk to do so.
